(BTW, I downloaded a ton of Weekly Young Jump magazine scans just to find out that All you need is Kill is printed in this one. I just saw the photo of Kiriya and I knew it. So dumb of me.)

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!
Summary: Keiji remembers his childhood days when he would sacrifice himself in order to boost up morale and patriotism in their game of Aliens vs. Humans. Obviously, he's not gonna play hero anymore.
Present day, they were doing push-ups (just like in the first chapter) and the guys were talking about Rita being a figure head. Keiji recalls Rita being a badass before his first death. Rita uses a battle axe twice her size and despite her cute looks, she is a cold-hearted woman. In the battlefield, she does what she needs to do to survive, looting Keiji's battery pack and proceeding to humiliate him while dying. Before Keiji dies, he decides to bring a mimic down. He does so by using a jackhammer like weapon. The mimic dies and so does he because the mimic shot a projectile at Keiji.
In the night, I hear them talk. The coldest story ever told... He lost his soul to a woman so heartless.
While spacing out, Rita leaves them and Keiji notices that he can change events that are happening and not everything is absolute. After 3 hours worth of push-ups, Keiji is in search for tips to survive in the battlefield. As a passerby, he overhears a conversation during a shogi match (shogi is Japanese chess but more complex I think) where they were mentioning the art of war. He then thought of joining Sergeant Bartolome in his training. Sergeant Bartolome shares his wisdom about being better at fighting; Learn from experience, "Cut to Learn." Keiji smiles, albeit giving a sinister vibe, while thinking about his current condition's advantages. We end with them beginning their training.
Wrong dialogue. You're Keiji Kiriya now.
Likes: The death note face. Yay! Hurray for the come back of the serious art style! If you don't already know, I'm a fan of Takeshi Obata's art for Death Note as it really portrays darkness.
Also, was it just me or does this look like the story "Two Earths" by Ashirogi Mutou (from Bakuman.)
Dislikes: Rita is a man-eater. I like her character actually, she's really pretty but she's a tough and is a opportunist. I mean, it's war so you can't expect someone to be respecting the dead when they have ammo and equipment that you can use to live on. She's a realist so she's good on my book. Her attitude could use some changes though.
Wrong dialogue, that's for Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Sorry.
Quirks: Keiji didn't notice that he could change the outcomes of his actions. He thought, everything was absolute, like duh, he died 3 times in 3 different ways. He could change how he dies but he couldn't change the fact that he dies eventually. You died 3 times already, why haven't you thought of that before chapter 1 was over? For real? That's just putting naivety to the next level.
L? Is that you?
Oh yeah, before he killed himself, he could've tried to change how the day played out, but no. He chose to kill himself first thing after he wakes up.
No predictions today because I'm trying to catch up with their releases! This one is published at a different magazine, Weekly Young Jump, so I don't know when it comes out. Ja ne!
