MEGA Weekly! Fuuka 6-10: Wings; Promise!; Stage!; Unrequited Love; Band!

Fuuka Akitsuki is searching for something fun to do, a hobby or a club to join. She could not find anything, however, Haruna Yuu, suggested that she should take up music; either pick up an instrument or become a singer. She dreams, she acts upon that dream.

Fuuka invites Yuu to see a concert but Tama-chan (Koyuki) invites him first. With no choice, he goes with Fuuka and to his surprise, they went to see Tama-chan's concert. The three of them met eye-to-eye for the first time and it has now become a race to win Yuu's heart. The concert left Fuuka wanting the stage and so she decides to build a band. This leads to them to possibly meet personally as the four of them (Mikasa included) work at the beach in Shōnan.

Shonen Magazine 19 2014

The titles are as follows: 6. Wings (はばたけ [Habatake]); 7. Promise! (約束 [Yakusoku]); 8. Stage! (ステージ! [Sutēji!]); 9. Unrequited Love (片想い [Kataomoi]); 10. Band! (バンド! [Bando!]) I couldn't fit all of that information in the title bar so I'll just put them all here.

Previously on: Fuuka 5: Yuu perceives this good looking guy as a rival for Fuuka when he finds out that he swings the other way. He gains another friend, Mikasa.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!
Summary:
6: Yuu watches in awe as Fuuka overcomes a high jump. Mikasa comments that he can see Fuuka's wings but she still doesn't know how to escape her bird cage. He tells Yuu that he is the one who can free her and give her the initiative to soar towards her dream. Fuuka invites him to go to a shrine to heighten her chances of winning tickets to a concert she wants to watch. Since they were talking about something missing in Fuuka's life, Yuu suggests that she pursue music since she feels good when listening to music. She takes Yuu's advise to heart and follows it.

Kanojo o ōzora e habataka seru koto
With [her wings], she will soar the sky.
7: Tama-chan tells Yuu that she is performing at Budōkan but does not reply immediately upon receiving the news. Later, Nachi (the upperclassman who was recruiting Fuuka to be in the Track Club) confronts Yuu about his suggestion to Fuuka and wants him to discourage Fuuka. Mikasa comes to the rescue and defends Fuuka's freedom to choose what she wants to do. Fuuka announces that she won the tickets she wanted so bad but unfortunately, she couldn't go with her friend since she's not available (an obvious lie). Yuu volunteers to come with her. He replies to Tama's text with disappointing news that he could not come but unexpectedly, they arrive at Budōkan where Tama is having her concert.

Kōri mu Koyuki
Me: I don't get it at all but I do know that Koyuki is the name of Tama-chan.
My guess is it means "Koyuki's Concert"
8: Yuu is surprised that Fuuka invited him to Tama-chan's concert. Her reasoning behind it is that since Yuu said that she likes Tama-chan's songs, she invited him. Meanwhile, in Tama-chan's dressing room, she decides to view the inside of the venue when she overheard Fuuka's declaration of her ultimate goal; to play at Budōkan. Tama was reminded of her childhood promise with Yuu that has been currently being worked upon. The concert starts and Tama enters the stage and the first thing she notices is Yuu.

O... Niko... kun...?
Girls always put "o" in front of their sentences.
She's just calling out "Nico-kun."
9: The concert left Fuuka feeling lonely as it ended. Like waking up from a good dream, she longs for more. She noticed that Koyuki (Tama-chan's real name) was emitting a bright aura as if she was inspired to sing with all her heart and deduces that she was singing for someone she likes. This made Fuuka want to write a love song taken from real life experience and Yuu begs the question; "Do you have a crush on someone?" She glances at him and answers with "Probably..." Back at home, Tama calls Yuu and explains that she was surprised to see him. Yuu; in his obliviousness and his density, cuts her off as to "not keep her for himself." Despite that, Koyuki asks if she could call him again and he answers "yes" with no hesitation. Koyuki, being a girl in love with the guy he just called, was flushed in joy and excitement that she flailed her legs like any other girl would do.

" Yokatta yo" tte itte kureta
Niko-kun no koto omo~tsu te tsukutta uta o...
Kataomoi no uta.... Ka
"You were great," he said...
The song I made for Nico-kun...
A song about love....huh
10: Reminiscing about his memories of Tama-chan, Yuu remembers their childhood goals; to build a band. Later that day, an excited Fuuka grabs Yuu by his collar (this is a running gag in the manga) and takes Yuu's earphones to hear what he's been listening to. During class, Fuuka gathers Yuu and Mikasa and went to the faculty room to ask their homeroom teacher to build a band club. Unfortunately, there are no spare rooms in which they can set their club in and there aren't enough people to build a legitimate club. The teacher suggests that they buy instruments first and slaps them with the reality of the music industry (that you need an arm and a leg in exchange for an instrument). She comes up with the idea of having a part time job over the summer to buy instruments and recommends them to work for her acquaintance in Shōnan. Consequently, Koyuki's shooting a new music video in Shōnan. The triangle will meet again, but this time, it's PERSONAL.

Sore ja shinkyoku no PV wa Shōnan de toru koto ni nattakara
Yoroshiku ne Koyuki-chan
Koyuki: Hai! Ganbarimasu!

So, we'll be filming your new song's music video (PV) in Shōnan.
We hope you'll do your best, Koyuki-chan!
Yes! I will do my best!
Likes: We get into the real theme of this manga; music. I thought that it was a "Suzuka" clone with track (sports) as the underlying subject. Good thing I was proven wrong, I'm liking this series more.

Sugoi sugo-i Fuuka!!
160cm dayo!?
A..un
Yappari, rikujō yatta kata ga iyo!!
That was so cool Fuuka!!
160cm right?
Yes!
I knew it, she could land that jump easy.
I like Koyuki's simple girl side. I mean, she's an  idol that just sang in Budōkan but despite that, she's still the simple girl that still gets the lovey-dovey feeling while talking to her crush. That's how people should be. Everything she's done is solely for Yuu.

Jā sa! Itsuka issho ni bando yarou yo!
Watashi bōkaru no "Tama" tte hito kurai uta umakunaru kara!
Boku mo kono "Nico" tte hito kurai bēsu umaku naru yo!!
Another thing that I liked about these recent chapters is the growing relationship of Yuu with Fuuka. She's obviously crushing on Yuu but this dense guy can't really figure it out.

So I'm cutting this one short since this has been on my queue for a while now and I'm pretty sure there are two or more chapters waiting to be read. I'm sorry. I will do my best to keep up. For now, please forgive me. Arigatou.
