Weekly! Naruto 668: Crimson Spring Begins! (紅き春の始まり)

Guy-sensei releases the Eighth Gate: Gate of Death. Flashback to Guy's beginnings. His father, Might Dai is just like Guy today, outgoing and always in a good mood. He teaches Guy the "Eight Inner Gates" but suggests that he only use it when needed. Then back to reality, Guy-sensei closes the gap between him and Madara in an instant and attacks with his 夕象 (Night Elephant) attack.

Previously on: Naruto 667: The mysterious foot is revealed to be Kabuto! Kabuto heals Sasuke because he's changed now due to Izanami and Itachi's will to protect Sasuke. Meanwhile, Guy-sensei opens his 7th Gate and fights with Madara. Exhaustion took over but not a single scratch on Madara. With only one way to do defeat Madara, Guy gets ready to unleash the Red Beast.

Don't even ask me how I got that title. If you google translate it from Japanese to English, it wouldn't make sense. Since it's all kanji, try using Chinese to English and then it'll make sense. This is just painful. I know how the strokes work with Kanji so I can do try to write in as an input method and then google searches it. I look at the result and choose the one that looks the same as the one that's written and then look at the meaning through a Kanji Dictionary.

I downloaded a Chinese translated Naruto chapter so I thought it was suspiciously all-kanji. I was also thinking, "Wow! Kishimoto really wants to showcase his kanji knowledge with this! Even though it's a shonen manga!" I was wrong. Sorry for the mix up. Hope you enjoy this review!

Summary: Guy-sensei's raises his death flag higher than last week's chapter! He says his (maybe) last words to Rock Lee. He rushes forward and prepares his body for the opening of the Eighth Gate. He points his thumb right where his heart his; where his thumb acts like a key to unlock a hidden power. Madara notices what Guy is doing and we are shown a heart surrounded by chakra, and seems as though this power is not for those who are afraid to die.

Might Dai scold's a young Guy and lectures him about being "strong." He tells Guy that strength lies in the will to protect someone/something important. His father showed him his ultimate technique called "The Eight Inner Gates" and explains that he spent all those 20 years as a Gennin just to be able to master this technique. Years later during a mission, a teenage Guy appears to be in a bind, faced with the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist. Without a lot of options, Guy's team is thinking of a plan to defeat the Seven Swordsmen when his father comes to his aid. Dai still has his 8th Gate opened, to make use of it until the end, he plans to get Guy running to safety while he stalls the opposition.

Guy releases the Eighth Gate: Gate of Death. His aura; covering his whole body, is made of blood vapor thus making a red steam. His eyes, burning with passion and youth! He replies to Madara's insult by saying that he will become the fertilizer that will make seedlings grow to their fullest! He closes his gap from Madara in high speed, Madara caught off-guard. Guy unleashing his first attack; Night Elephant!

Likes: Charge Guy! Charge! AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! But seriously, I like Guy's Eight Gate because we never really see any of Guy since the whole Naruto fighting with Kurama in the fall of truth or whatever. When he was fighting Kisame I think... Whatever! I just like to see someone unleash their full potential just to fight an adversary that is all omnipotent. Even seeing Naruto for the first time with the Chakra cloak, it was really exciting for me. Then I got tired of that. MORE AURA/CHAKRA CLOAK/CHAKRA CHARGE PLEASE!

Dislikes: How this just became a flashback chapter instead of a full on warm-up fight. I'll let this pass since it's Guy-sensei's past and we've never seen anything about his family before.

Quirks: I'm not even gonna mention his father's name to be a pun of some sort. Nope. You've had enough internets, go home.

Predictions: I'm gonna bet my money on Guy at least tiring Madara out until Naruto and Sasuke come alive. I just want to see Guy fight Madara, just to keep things simple.

Past Prediction Result: I got the first one right: "Guy's gonna be all like "8th Gate: Gate of Death, RELEASE!" and be all lightning fast." I knew that one was up but I didn't expect a flashback chapter. *Sigh* Kishi, please just stop with this stalling and make them fight already.

Please, stop with the Might Guy, Might Dai thoughts. It's not smart, it's just keeping up with the naming convention. Why did Madara descend from his aerial location? I don't even... Why would he descend? You know what? He could just drop a meteor down like he did a long time ago. Just crush these puny ants. Is that so hard? KAISAN!
