FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions and then some...
  1. All manga should not be flipped - Manga should be read from right-to-left. The other way around is just killing my excitement. I do still read some that are flipped but I'm generally turned off by that format.
  2. I don't like reading online - I don't want my eyes to be stuck on my computer screen for long periods of time. Some titles are even scanned horribly. I only check online when I'm thinking of buying a title.
  3. Omnibus vs. Single Volumes - I really would like single volumes of each title. I really like to see the cover art and some color pages (if there are some). I'll only get omnibus volumes if I can't get the single volumes. What I like about omnibuses is that they have extra color pages and some even have the colored cover art.
  4. Used vs. New - I like used manga. I cherish them like the new ones I have. Usually, people who buy and read manga are one time readers and that's why when they sell them used, they are still in good condition. They also have the same effect, you can still read the story even if they are used. Another factor is that I am a cheapskate. So I'm going to buy used every time I can.
  5. Fan service - I like fan service, especially those realistic ones. BUT I will not give my full respect to a manga that only bets on fan service to get readers to read the content of a volume *High School of the Dead.
  6. The Big Three - I don't read One Piece and Bleach. I'm sorry if I offend you. I've watched one episode of One Piece years ago, and I like the pirate stuff. I just don't like the art style. With Bleach, I haven't got the chance to read it and I'm too lazy to read hundreds of chapters just to catch up to it. I, however, read Naruto. It's the first manga I've read. I didn't start it from the beginning, I just started at the Shippuden part and have since read every chapter.
  7. Sub vs. Dub (Anime) - I like sub better. I learn some Japanese words and phrases that way. I can also feel the genuine feeling of a character if it's played out by someone who really wants the role. The only dub that I'll accept is Cowboy Bebop and Gundam Wing.
  8. Watch weekly or marathon (Anime) - It depends on whether the show is still airing or not. I generally like to marathon anime because I get the information faster and I have no time to forget about the story. I watch anime weekly if the show is still airing but sometimes I like to drop the anime from watching weekly to just letting finish first so I can marathon it later.
  9. I dislike Gag/Comedy (Anime) - When a show revolves around what little plot there is and focuses on gags and comical acts, I can't appreciate it. I'm not watching anime for laughs only, I'm watching it for the feels that live action stuff can't convey and project.
