Weekly! MonsterxMonster

Oooh, it’s Shingeki no Kyojin but instead of kyojin, we have Kemono which translates to beasts, believe it or not. Then after a few pages, there were beast hunters who hunt beasts to sell on the market because ivory and other materials can be taken from beasts. Imagine a Rhino horn the size of the whole Rhino itself. After it hooked me like a teenage boy looking at a porn mag only to find that the models were trannies, the series showed it’s true colors, it’s about a NEET trying to have a peaceful, couch-potato (but in this case, a bed-potato) life but still wants to earn money and grope all the tits in the world.

From what I can collect, this is Tobita Nikiichi's debut series. I'm worried that this series would end up being crappy due to the unclear plot. Let's just hope that it goes well because it looks promising.

Weekly Shounen Magazine 16 & 17 2014

Weekly! UQ Holder 26: Karin's Crisis (夏凜の危機 Karin no kiki)

The fight between Touta and Kaito has ended. However, the immortal hunter; Nagumo, has been ordered to do overtime. He fights Karin and almost gets defeated until he uses his secret weapon. He teleports Karin to the moon. Whoa. Did I read that right? The moon?! How can that be possible?! The moon?! THE MOON?! Do you know how far the moon is?! I don't know the answer. That's why I'm asking you.

BTW, UQ Holder Volume 1 is out and I can't wait to pick it up! I'll go and visit the nearest bookstore and flip through some pages and see how it looks like! Happy face!

Weekly Shounen Magazine 15-2014
Previously on: UQ Holder 25: Touta suppresses the Magia Erebia, granting "Mercy" upon Kaito. In their final showdown, they arm wrestle. Both of them weakened, they fight with their sheer willpower and with only pure strength and heart, Touta beats Kaito and wrecks the building they were standing on.

Weekly! UQ Holder 25

Touta suppresses the Magia Erebia, granting "Mercy" upon Kaito. In their final showdown, they arm wrestle. It's like that one filler episode in Naruto where the Raikage and the Hokage arm wrestle and the Raikage wins for is speed but it's turns around and the strong person wins this time. Who could that be? Also, there is a little teary moment in this chapter so don't be hating on it because of that.

Previously on: UQ Holder 24: Touta becomes totally consumed by Magia Erebia. Completely obliterating Kaito with sheer strength and battle intuition. Defeating and immobilized, Kaito is ready to die an honorable death in the hands of a worthy opponent.

Monthly! Clockwork Planet 1: RyuZu Yourslave

This series began serializing way back in September 2013 and they only decided to translate it recently so I'll just put this on my list of series to review every month. As the title says, humans are living in a Clockwork Planet because Earth is finished and can no longer be habitable. Earth looks like Saturn now because it has a Gear-Ring around it and it has floating cities that are made from gears. It's like a clock. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we have automatas in this story. Steampunk innards with human skin, these automatas would turn you into a Hideki loving her Persocom named Chi (reference: Chobits by Clamp).

The art is totally modern and shounen in a lot of ways. If you watched last year's anime titled "Unbreakable Machine-Doll" and liked it, this might appeal to you. If you like robot looking like humans that are totally loyal and will do anything for their master, then go ahead and read this. No, perv, not those kinds of orders.

Weekly! UQ Holder 23 & 24

Battle! Touta and Kaito fight in this instant movement showdown! Touta is slower in instant movement but makes up for it with his battle senses. Kaito is a veteran fighter and faster. Ultimately ending in a draw, Kaito goes to super sonic speeds to beat Touta. However, some dark aura is emanating from Touta's body. What could it be?

Weekly Shonen Magazine Issues 12 & 13 2014

Previously on: UQ Holder 22: Badass Touta kicking Kaito-san's (Mr. Werewolf) butt! A romance developing? Kuroumaru carried like a princess while regenerating his lower body (d*ck not included. Yet.) Ms. Karin comes just in time for a team match up! An instant movement showdown is about to begin!

Manga in the Mail: 24

Super cheap and in great condition. I found them and I'm surprised no one paid higher than what I was ready to pay. I got this super amazing deal for these volumes:

Blame! Volume 1, Blood: The Last Vampire 2002, Warriors of Tao Volume 1 & 2 and Fullmetal Alchemist Volumes 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5

I was expecting the manga to be in a "Very Good" condition since most of the manga I buy are like that, except for this one. I was surprised to see them so clean and so taken care of that they are basically like new with only a little shelfwear. They haven't even been yellowed (yeah, manga does yellow over time but that depends on how you take care of them!)

Weekly! UQ Holder 22

Touta coming back from the fight, OP. Somehow Touta can read minds? He also figured out that Mr. Werewolf is actually Kaito. It's an instant movement showdown! Can this get any faster?!

I'm sorry that this is their cover for this week's Shonen Magazine. Also, since it's not serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump," I will not be using Viz Media's covers for their digital magazine.

Previously on: UQ Holder 21: Ruki doing his best to protect the village. Mr. Werewolf was about to kill him when suddenly Touta wakes up from his peaceful slumber with a new power up! Also, Kuroumaru tried to rescue Ruki but was only able to do an assist due to his current.... uhh... situation. Touta's arms are covered in dark stuff which looks like magic and even the blind swordsman says that it's some kind of magic; Magi Erebea (which is from Negima.)

Manga in the Mail: 22

This is a record breaking package. Yep. I thought 17 was the biggest, until this hulking package came this morning. 28 volumes of random manga. Yeah! I know! 28 volumes! Awesome isn't it? I'm so happy to see this package!

I'm hoping I can go beyond this number of volumes in one package. That would probably be far into the future. List of all volumes are inside, so come on down!

Weekly! UQ Holder 20

Hey! It's this week's UQ Holder fix! I'm not sure about it being this week's UQ Holder or last week. Feels like this was the chapter for last week. Whatever. Get on with it, right?

Viz Media

More fan-service for those who didn't have enough of Karin-san's bathroom scene with that uhh.. Chinese guy. Yay for more fan-service (BTW, without areola and nipples, girls look like mannequins. Seriously.

Sorry, I'm breaking the cycle, here's a Weekly! post instead! Enjoy!

More inner monologue from Kuroumaru. More conflicting thoughts about his friendship with Touta.

This is a full-on 2-in-1 battle between Kuroumaru and the bad guys. What's gonna happen with our gender-less main character?

Weekly! UQ Holder 18

Here's the second chapter release of UQ Holder from some manga streaming website. Again, if you haven't checked out my wishlist post about this title, click here!

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

How do you fight against immortals? Not easy huh? Also, must be hard to be friends with them, they don't age (in terms of looks) and they can't die while you are so vulnerable. Must be painful for the immortal huh?

Weekly! UQ Holder 17

Some manga streaming website just released two chapters of this title the same day they released Naruto so I'm going to post two separate posts instead of making one to make it more consumable. Longer posts tend to get boring at times (I know, I know) so I'll chop this into two bite sized posts. UQ Holder by Ken Akamatsu, if you haven't read my wishlist post on this, click here!

UQ Holder Volume 1 (Japanese)

Wishlist: UQ Holder

I've been reading this weekly since it started on August this year. I'm really into it since I'm a fan of Negima! Magister Negi Magi series. I currently have 22 volumes of this title which is the most number of volumes for a title I have. Enough about Negima, we're here to talk about it's successor, UQ HOLDER!

It's Ken Akamatsu's signature style!

The author of A.I. Love You, Love Hina, Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Ken Akamatsu comes back with a new series! He's mostly know for his work Love Hina which is one of the titles that established the Harem genre. After finishing Love Hina, he came out with another series; Negima! Magister Negi Magi that is far from what he published before (Sci-fi and Slice-of-life).

So, I just received a huge package containing 13 volumes of manga and 2 light novels. Then there's another package with a complete set. I'll reveal the bigger of the two and put a first impressions on them. Here we go!

Manga in the Mail: 7

These are kind of the leftovers from the last big haul and a floating one. (What's floating?!)

Wolf God Volume 1 and Variante Volume 1

Review: Genkaku Picasso Volume 1

Sublimation, a defense mechanism that turns a negative feeling into an acceptable form. Most artist (painters, musicians, writers and other creative people) have this defense mechanism as they tend to express their anger, happiness, sadness and every other emotions humans have. I have this but I don't think I've needed it for so long. What does this have to do with the review? Well, you're about to find out!

From the outside, it looks like a manga about an artist who dreams to become a big hit. I took this title at it's face value. I love art, so why don't I read a manga about art. If you thought the same thing I did, well, we're both wrong.
