Series Review: Nozoki Ana; Peephole (ノ・ゾ・キ・ア・ナ [No・Zo・Ki・A・Na])

Sometimes, the smallest spark can burst into a huge flame. This is exactly what this story is about; a small crack/hole in a wall that will drive two unlike people into sorrow, sadness, joy and lastly, love. Neighbors divided by paper walls, witness each other's true selves. It is an odd story indeed, a love born out of a Peephole.

Nozoki Ana Volume 1
I'm on an ecchi manga binge. Well, to be exact, it's a seinen romance manga. Tons of love-making scenes and heartbreaks. I just read this today, the entirety of it (2nd of July, 2014) and I have some sort of a lingering headache from reading on a tablet all day.

Honna Wakou is a female mangaka who drew this seinen manga. WHO WOULD'VE KNOWN? Wakou does sound a bit female so I saw this coming. Sort of. From what I've gathered, this is her first published work which is not so bad considering it ran for 13 volumes. It is nice to see that it's an adult love story that leans towards the female side of a relationship. Enough jibber-jabber, let's get to the review.

Series Review: Kono S o, Mi yo! Look at this S (このSを、見よ [Kono S o, miyo])

What if you had a curse/blessing (depending on how you see it) that make the opposite sex crave for you? To men, a tempting offer but to women, a curse. This story tells the situation of an adult male having a birthmark on his bum that has the power to make women crave for him in a sexual way. The catch? The women must still have their period or else, it won't work. How does it get "turned off"? The woman just needs to have sex with the guy to avoid further sexual frustrations and wet panties. Still with me? Good! Let's review this!

Kono S o, Mi yo! Volume 1
The mangaka; Kitazaki Taku, has been published with multiple titles since the late 80s. I don't know much about the guy but from what I can see (which is barely scratching the surface), he's drawn a lot of ecchi stuff. I don't have anything special to say since I haven't read anything from him except for this title. I will read the stories "prequel" because this story is unique. I'll get to it. Just click that "READ MORE" and hope you'll be satisfied with this review.

Weekly! Fuuka 11: In a Loud Voice (大きな声で![Ōkina koe de!])

Yuu, Fuuka and Mikasa arrive peaceful at Shōnan and were immediately put to work by the Southwind's manager. Yuu gets scolded by the manager for not speaking loud enough to say the order. Fuuka saves the day by saying that she wants to hear more of his voice. He grows a pair and yells with all his heart but that effort ended poorly.

Shukkan Shonen Magazine 20-2014
Previously on: Fuuka 10: Yuu reminisces about his childhood and his promise with Tama-chan. Fuuka decides that she wants to form a band with Yuu and Mikasa but learns that a large sum of money is needed to buy instruments. Their homeroom teacher suggests that they work for her friend in Shōnan which is incidentally, where Tama-chan is shooting her next music video!

MEGA Weekly! Fuuka 6-10: Wings; Promise!; Stage!; Unrequited Love; Band!

Fuuka Akitsuki is searching for something fun to do, a hobby or a club to join. She could not find anything, however, Haruna Yuu, suggested that she should take up music; either pick up an instrument or become a singer. She dreams, she acts upon that dream.

Fuuka invites Yuu to see a concert but Tama-chan (Koyuki) invites him first. With no choice, he goes with Fuuka and to his surprise, they went to see Tama-chan's concert. The three of them met eye-to-eye for the first time and it has now become a race to win Yuu's heart. The concert left Fuuka wanting the stage and so she decides to build a band. This leads to them to possibly meet personally as the four of them (Mikasa included) work at the beach in Shōnan.

Shonen Magazine 19 2014

The titles are as follows: 6. Wings (はばたけ [Habatake]); 7. Promise! (約束 [Yakusoku]); 8. Stage! (ステージ! [Sutēji!]); 9. Unrequited Love (片想い [Kataomoi]); 10. Band! (バンド! [Bando!]) I couldn't fit all of that information in the title bar so I'll just put them all here.

Previously on: Fuuka 5: Yuu perceives this good looking guy as a rival for Fuuka when he finds out that he swings the other way. He gains another friend, Mikasa.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Series Review: Renai Shimasen Ka: Shall we Love? (恋愛しませんか[Ren'ai shimasen ka])

An otaku who falls in love with a girl who works at a maid-cafe, a dream come true for many. Fuwa Rito is your casual otaku and Fuwari-san is your run-off-the-mill big busted maid and how is this relationship even possible? These two share a common past but that will not stop them from falling in love. This story is straight-forward and will not leave you asking questions. Any complaints before we move on? Good?

Fuwari: 私と恋愛しませんか
She's roughly saying: "Don't you want to fall in love with me?"
Hey! Ohisashiburi! When was the last time I wrote something? I've been busy with school and my video-making that I don't have much time. Anyway, I'll do my best to review this series before it gets rusty on my head.

This is the first manga by Tachibana Roku serialized in Young Ace. The mangaka's latest work is Inugami-san to Sarutobi-kun wa naka ga Warui and is about two elite students fighting out in various small competitions that will determine who will be succeed the Inugami Foundation.

Weekly! Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome 77: How About This

A new arc! Ai Wagatsuma is interested in the newly hired math teacher?! How will Aoshima fix the present to have that ideal future?! Also, the start of this chapter is about a show host (which I assume is from late night) retiring after hosting the show for 30+ years. It's weird that they put that there but I guess that guy is a big influence for the both mangaka.

Shonen Magazine 19 2014
I decided to pick this series up since I like it and I think it's funny and I kind of learn more about the Japanese Visual Culture (TV) through it. Whatever. Just go ahead and skip it if you want.

Previously on: Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome 76: The Kaji-sensei arc ends with her ending up with Fuji-Q. His hook is his cooking ability that won over Kaji-sensei's son (his son does not eat vegetables). His future is now secured with Kaji-sensei.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Now-Reading 8: Youth Pop! (青春ポップ! [Seishun poppu!])

The ultimate focus of this story is finding that someone who you want to protect with all of your life. It might be family, it might be a partner, it might be a friend or a lover. Whoever it may be, you will go to lengths which you've never even thought about crossing until you found this person. My friends, I give you: Seishun Pop!

Seishun Pop!
This is a nice seinen series that has a ton of sex scenes. Tons. As in there are at least 5 chapters worth of sex scenes. Okay, let's leave that. It's mostly about the relationship Sakuta has with people and "another thing." It's just nice to read this. I marathon'd this and it's amazing! Some of the mature themes are great and they really show some taboo stuff in this series. You just have to read it to know what I mean.

Touta Kitakawa is the mangaka for this manga. Her other works include a balding story fittingly titled "Hageruya" (Hage means bald so I'm guessing it's translation is "Balding"). She has drawn more but these are the available ones that Google-sensei provides. Sorry for blabbering too much.

Warning! This title contains mature themes, nudity and violence.

Now Reading 7: Wagatsuma is My Wife! (我妻さんは俺のヨメ [Wagatsuma-san wa Ore no Yome])

Been a while hasn't it? Sorry about that! I will catch up with all of the weekly post I need to do and more. I've freed up some time to post more stuffs for yous guys! Please give this a read!

When the love of your life is named "Ai Wagatsuma," you should expect that she'll become your wife, as her name says (Ai = Love, Waga Tsuma = My Wife). Our main character; Aoshima Hitoshi, is a high schooler who can time travel. Okay, let's lessen that and make it, "temporary time travel ala Hououin Kyouma." Just read the first two paragraphs and I promise you, I will convince you to read this! If not, you get your time back. Seriously! I'll pay you in dream time!

Sorry for not posting for a while. I'm really bogged down by my courses in college. Sorry about that. I hope you didn't all lose faith in me. Come back my dear readers! Come back! Baby, come back!

One-Shot!: 30-sai, Shojo OL (30歳 処女 OL) by Ruruko

Since I'm doing a lot of Weekly! and Monthly! posts, I thought that it's time to give one-shots a place here. I've read two one-shots this year and a ton more titles out there to choose from to review. I'll do these one-shots like my normal volume reviews. Expect more of these to be posted, Weekly! and Monthly! posts will still be on time (here's to hoping I do finish them on time!) Okay, more on the story!

Turnoffs, all of us have them. Celebrities, Politicians, Blue-collar job workers, Students, everyone has a turnoff. What if, this turnoff was the sole reason for you not having a long lasting relationship? Well, that is the story of our 30 year old main character; Hinako. Her turnoff? She's a neat-freak with a highly damaging reflex movements whenever she gets touched the wrong way. Enough about turnoffs, let's get started with the story!

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Warning! This one-shot contains nudity and mature themes. Also a very detailed description of a sex scene will be described as part of the summary. Do not go beyond this point if you are under 18.

Weekly! Fuuka 5: Coming out (カミングアウト)

A new challenger comes! Err... actually, it's different from a challenger. Let's just say that another person comes to the fray, meddling with Yuu's growing feelings toward Fuuka. It's actually an interesting chapter but that's just my opinion. Let me defend this chapter!

The Case of the Mysterious Steam
Weekly Shonen Magazine 015-2014 cover coming soon

Previously on: Fuuka 4: Yuu gains 2 tickets to a movie that coincidentally, Fuuka really wants to watch. He invites her and they set a date on Sunday. The day of the meeting, they miss each other in a cliche way but with Fuuka's strange abilities; she finds Yuu. Also, Yuu gets a knee to the face just to make fun of him.

The chapter title gives a bit of a hint as to what this chapter is about. I was translating it by my Katakana/Hiragana self study (through translating manga) sheets and I was confused as to what it means. I've never heard of such a word. ka mi n gu a u to. KA-MINGU-AUTO. Coming out. WTF?! I was like whoa! This was totally what the translators wrote! Cool!

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Warning! This chapter has a few of shots of pantsu. Beware of pervs lurking in this blog.

Monthly! Clockwork Planet 1: RyuZu Yourslave

This series began serializing way back in September 2013 and they only decided to translate it recently so I'll just put this on my list of series to review every month. As the title says, humans are living in a Clockwork Planet because Earth is finished and can no longer be habitable. Earth looks like Saturn now because it has a Gear-Ring around it and it has floating cities that are made from gears. It's like a clock. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that we have automatas in this story. Steampunk innards with human skin, these automatas would turn you into a Hideki loving her Persocom named Chi (reference: Chobits by Clamp).

The art is totally modern and shounen in a lot of ways. If you watched last year's anime titled "Unbreakable Machine-Doll" and liked it, this might appeal to you. If you like robot looking like humans that are totally loyal and will do anything for their master, then go ahead and read this. No, perv, not those kinds of orders.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Weekly! Fuuka 4

When you have a sister working for an advertising company, you get some perks. When you're a new transfer student and still have no friends, who will you invite to watch a movie? You probably know how this story will end...

Flying Fuuka!

Previously on: Fuuka 3: We are introduced to Koyuki "Tama" Hinashi; Yuu's childhood friend and maybe his first love? (BTW, Tama-chan is a famous idol.) Yuu sees Fuuka crying and came to the conclusion that she got rejected by the upperclassman who recruited her to the Track Club. She clears it up with Yuu and he runs away like a wuss again. We get to see a connection finally building up.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Weekly! Fuuka 3

A possible third wheel comes to shake Yuu's life! This is a chapter that doesn't do much with the story but is an introduction for a character. This will be a quick one, I promise.

I just found this website that has these covers for Shonen Magazine so I'm going to get magazine covers there from now on. Hopefully they update them weekly.

Previously on: Fuuka 2: Yuu's sister give us fan-service! His first day on his new school became rough for him after he forgot his phone at home. After school, Fuuka grabbed him and said that she needed help buying something. They ended pretending to be a couple to purchase a CD that came with Fuuka's real target, cellphone straps. Later that day, a girl privately sent a message to Yuu's SNS (Social Networking Service) account.

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Weekly! Fuuka 2

Who starts a chapter with fan-service? Seo Kouji. I don't mind the imouto/onee-san fan service but was that really necessary?! Anyway, Yuu's first day as a tenkoosei (transfer student) and Fuuka is his classmate. After school, Yuu is pulled away by Fuuka to get cellphone straps. The catch is, they can only buy the straps if the buyers are a couple. What a weirdo!

*Updated Magazine Cover.

PHONES ARE BAD! P.S. They haven't released the 12th issue of Shonen Magazine yet so this is what you get for now...

Previously on: Fuuka 1: Yuu Haruna--a teenage boy who loves to post on a certain SN (Social Network)-- encounters Fuuka Akitsuki after bumping into her in the middle of the street. They meet again after Yuu talks to a teacher about his transfer. Two times has he been caught looking like a pervert who secretly takes pictures of women and both times, his phones were thrown. Both become friendly with each other after Yuu tries to "save" Fuuka from what seems to be like rape--which turns out, is just a recruitment for the track team of the school. Tons of stuff are left out, if you want to check out my review on the first chapter, click here or!

Weekly! Fuuka 1

Since I saw this after downloading a ton of weekly magazines, I decided to pick it up for a review. I love Seo Kouji's Suzuka (I have only read up to volume 3 since that's all I bought, but I have 5 now, including 4 and 6) and the story of it. I looked at his other works and what do you know? He wrote Kimi no Iru Machi, which just finished airing last year. I'm really looking for something that started this year to review so I have a ton of stuff to post while the real reviews are still incomplete. I know, I need to stop wasting time and get on with the regular reviews. Anyway, here you go! Summer Wind!

風夏

The title is FUU KA ( FUU = WIND [or KAZE] and  KA = SUMMER [or NATSU]) which is really hard to translate but thanks to the FURIGANA beside the Kanji, I can translate it (after 10 years) to FUUKA.

It's basically the same story as Kimi no Iru Machi and Suzuka where a boy comes from a different town and gets involved with some girl somehow. I'll let you in on more of the story if you come with me... I don't offer candy though so your expectations are broken!

Spoiler Alert! If you are gonna read this post, please read the actual manga first!

Manga in the Mail: 22

This is a record breaking package. Yep. I thought 17 was the biggest, until this hulking package came this morning. 28 volumes of random manga. Yeah! I know! 28 volumes! Awesome isn't it? I'm so happy to see this package!

I'm hoping I can go beyond this number of volumes in one package. That would probably be far into the future. List of all volumes are inside, so come on down!

Review: High School Girls Volume 2

Hello! Welcome back from reading the laugh trip that is High School Girls! Did you read it because of my recommendation? No? Why? I'm sorry I can't do a good job at reviewing!     _| ̄|○

I am currently laughing my butt off from reading all the volumes I have (which is 5 in total) so I don't have a butt right now. _| ̄|○  Oh yeah, after finishing this volume, I can definitely say that this is a shounen manga.

Story so far: We have a group of girls that are starting their high school lives in an All-Girls High School. What they don't know is that girls who attend that high school are different from the "Princess/High Society" girls in their minds. Boyfriend-less girls, lesbians, filthy club rooms, dreadful locker rooms, ill-mannered girls, wild girls and most of all, no holds barred girl stuff (stuff you don't want to know because it's the harsh truth about girls.) And then, at the end of the school festival, one of them got a boyfriend. Well, let's continue the story...

Review: High School Girls Volume 1

So if you've been reading my blog from the very start (which I doubt anyone did), I have posted my now-reading post about High School Girls Volume 1. I've just finished it recently and I want to say, it's a documentary about an all girls high school.

Warning! This contains a bit of fan-service. A bit. A girl can probably stand it.

To start it off, this is a slice-of-life comedy manga that can either make you look at women differently. Your opinion about girls being all tidy and neat might be destroyed so if you don't want to see the ugly side of a girl, then do not read this. If you want to laugh out loud about the facts of the girl-life, then please, do so.

Now Reading: 6

INBO!!! (Japanese for: Conspiracy) If you haven't figured it out, I have one more and you should know it by now (if you are an otaku like me): Nihon Hikikomori Kyoukai (N.H.K. = Nihon Housou Kyoukai [Japanese Broadcasting Association] is a real broadcasting channel in Japan.) I gave you all the clues, and you should know it by now...

Welcome to the N.H.K. Volume 1

Warning! This volume contains mild nudity!

Before we move on, I will explain what a Hikikomori is. The people being called Hikikomori in Japan are shut-ins/recluse who close their worlds and only function within the confines of their apartment/room/house. There are anti-social and usually see the world as a threat to their existence. Hikikomori's are usually otakus who have been hurt by people's comments about them. Some are just afraid of contact with other people and don't feel the need to communicate with other people. I'm also an anti-social person (hence the blog) and I only go out when I need to but that is due to the lack of interpersonal skills on my side. I can understand why people would choose to be Hikikomori and why they choose to be inside their safe zones instead of going with the flow. They are humans too, they are just too afraid of being hurt, either by society's comment or by embarrassment.

Review: Battle Vixens Volume 1

Here's the review for the full-on fan service manga! That's all I need to say right? Wait. Do I need some kind of hook?

Warning! This volume contains mild nudity and explicit language!

It contains ~115 or so pages of actual content. The remaining ~50 pages was a story that happens in the same universe but outside the main story; a side story if you will. There's not much material to work on but I'll make it... somehow.
