Weekly! Naruto 670: The One who Started it all... (始まりのもの・・・!! [Hajimari no mono...!!])

Naruto wakes up, not in the real world, but in a dimension where he meets a strange old man. This old man has the Rinnegan and is sitting on black balls, floating and holding a staff. He reveals himself to be Otsutsuki Hagoromo, popularly known as "Rikudō Sennin" (The Sage of Six Paths). He gives a quick history lesson about his family and how it connects to Naruto.

The title is kind of iffy. According to my handy dandy Japanese-English Dictionary, it say that Hajimari means start/beginning and mono is person. I don't want to use a certain manga streaming site's translation so I use my knowledge to fit it better (I think I'm doing a good job). There!

Weekly Shounen Jump 18 2014

Previously on: Naruto 669: Madara vs. Guy! Guy's Night Elephant attack is executed. Failing at first due to the pain inflicted by using such technique, Guy completely lands the 5 hits that complete Night Elephant. Of course, it wouldn't be completed without the support of Kakashi, Gaara, Rock Lee and the Fourth. Madara, with blood coming out of his mouth, still wants to fight and only got excited from the taijutsu Guy has showcased!

Summary: Continuing from last chapter, Naruto wakes up in a dimension unfamiliar to him. An old man welcomed him and lectured him about how Naruto's generation can accept death easily. He tells Naruto that his name is "Hagoromo," the creator of peace, law and order. Naruto does not recall anyone named Hagoromo. After further explanation, Naruto realizes that he is the Rikudō Sennin, the creator of Ninjutsu. The Sage clarifies this misunderstanding, he created Ninshuu as a path of hope and not Ninjutsu which was created for war and destruction.

The Dude's got some mighty balls there.

Knowing Naruto's intellect, they have a hard time starting a conversation with the old man's choice of words. After a touch of comedy, they get on with the Rikudō Sennin's past.

From a far away land, Kaguya (Haguromo's mother) was in search for the Sacred Tree which bears the fruit of Chakra. Consuming it and controlling over all the lands, she gives birth to two boys; Hagoromo and his brother. The Sacred Tree, bent on taking back it's fruit, had transformed into a monstrous entity; the Juubi. The two brothers fought and sealed the Juubi within themselves. Not far from the future, Hagoromo had kids of his own; Indra and Ashura, Indra being the root of the Uchiha clan and Ashura, the root of the Senjuu clan. Indra spoke with his fist while Ashura grew knowing that "love" is the strongest of all. The war that has plagued several generations was started by them.

Talk no-Jutsu is flirting.

The Rikudō Sennin claims that Naruto is the current embodiment of Ashura's will and spirit.

Likes: The introduction of the Rikudō Sennin! Yes! We actually see his face and not just the silhoutte! He also doesn't look like what I've imagined. He has aged through the ages, just like how the old Madara looks like when he was introduced in Obito's backstory.

Religion uncovered?

Ninshuu and not Ninjutsu. What is it? How does one use Ninshuu? Is it the equivalent of "technology" in our current world where its uses only make our lives easier? Or is it just like Ninjutsu but without the death and destruction combined with it? I'm guessing that it's used for daily life and construction of structures.

Hagoromo's brother. The Rikudō Sennin tells us that they sealed the Juubi in themselves, meaning, he did not solely defeat that monster which a big misinformation in the Naruto-verse. This also means that what Madara has is not the "full Juubi" but just the half. The other half is yet to be discovered. Is the other half still sealed inside the Rikudō Sennin or is it inside his brother?

Juubi is having a bad day.

Kaguya. She looks like fox with rabbit ears. She looks more like a deity than a human. Maybe she is as the Rikudō Sennin does not fully inform us of her background. Maybe no one really knew about her therefore nothing is known about her except bearing two boys.

Dislikes: How did the Sage of Six Paths become a chakra ghost? He's basically made out of chakra now and lives in another dimension. HOW? Aren't dead people supposed to go somewhere? It looks like the Jinchuuriki's psyche dimension but in a higher dimension than that. How did Naruto access that place? Was the Rikudō Sennin like the TSA of Heaven?

Imagine something written there.

Quirks: Naruto not understanding any word that the Rikudō Sennin says. He might have been using some dialect or really old Japanese words though.

Hagoromo is an O.G.

Predictions: I want to hear more backstory therefore I am betting on MORE BACKSTORY!
