Review: Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Volume 1

I've read this the start November maybe. I'm not sure. It's a good manga though.
WARNING! This volume (or the series for that matter) contains graphic and gory scenes.
You might also die from too much MOE!

Case in Point: Nill

Dogs: Bullets & Carnage Volume 1 is about the "underground" life. There are 3 main characters, all badasses. This volume tells the story of mainly the guy in the cover; Heine. It starts out with an action packed chapter, anti-heroes vs. the usual underground syndicates. A lot of gunfights and a little sword play. The characters slowly reveal themselves (as they fight the villains) as products of the underground (over the course of the series, each of the main character gets their own background story told) but they don't tell you the full details to make you crave for more.

MOAR!!! NEED VOLUME 2!!

For a sequel (Yes! It's a sequel, the first one is called "Dogs: Prologue" or "Dogs Volume 0" if you want to sound hardcore.) it picks up where the first one left off with the art refined. This is a seinen (for older teens to early adults) manga because it contains blood, gore, graphic stuff inside.

I love this manga for the art and the story. It's not a thickly penned manga like the Naruto so it feels flimsy but also feels complete. The setting is also good, it gives you the feeling of Ninja Turtle-esque city (dark, "underground" sewers-type vibe, and really heavy.)

Bottomline:
You have to get used to manga before you read this, it's a... how to put it lightly... mature and dark with kiddy jokes. Why? Because, it contains a peck on the cheek (lip biting turned face eating), stigmata (Jesus style wounds caused by a bullet through the hand) and many others.

You need to brace yourself for this, if you truly are a beginning reader of manga, then pick another one. But if you are a battle hardened veteran, then this is for you.
