Now-Reading 8: Youth Pop! (青春ポップ! [Seishun poppu!])

The ultimate focus of this story is finding that someone who you want to protect with all of your life. It might be family, it might be a partner, it might be a friend or a lover. Whoever it may be, you will go to lengths which you've never even thought about crossing until you found this person. My friends, I give you: Seishun Pop!

Seishun Pop!
This is a nice seinen series that has a ton of sex scenes. Tons. As in there are at least 5 chapters worth of sex scenes. Okay, let's leave that. It's mostly about the relationship Sakuta has with people and "another thing." It's just nice to read this. I marathon'd this and it's amazing! Some of the mature themes are great and they really show some taboo stuff in this series. You just have to read it to know what I mean.

Touta Kitakawa is the mangaka for this manga. Her other works include a balding story fittingly titled "Hageruya" (Hage means bald so I'm guessing it's translation is "Balding"). She has drawn more but these are the available ones that Google-sensei provides. Sorry for blabbering too much.

Warning! This title contains mature themes, nudity and violence.

Summary: Sakuta Gotou, a freshman in Highschool has been mostly living alone in his house. His parents are divorced and is living with his father, although his father is always working overseas. His sister and mother left 10 years ago and Sakuta hasn't seen them in that long of a time.

The Imouto Route: Ami
He likes to put on his earphones without music on, to calm him from the overwhelming noise of progress. He has a neighbor who treats him like an older brother despite not being related. Ami, loves Sakuta to a point where she would like to be seen as a woman instead of girl in Sakuta's eyes. Sakuta is currently addicted to an indie band called "Incest." While listening, he bumps into a busty, shy girl named Ayano; who is classmates with him.

The Classmate Route: Ayano
BTW, it's black lace.
In class, a big commotion happens when a beautiful transfer student arrives. Her face screams beauty and Sakuta is mesmerized.

Being a big fan of Incest (the band), Sakuta was tipped off by a stranger at a record store that Incest is doing a secret live show. He comes to the show with his friend. Ami shows up with Ayano out of nowhere. Ami reveals her reason and they proceed to watch the live show.

The INCEST (the band) Route: EVE
During the live show, they found out that the singer for Incest (the band) is the transfer student! To make matters more confusing, she climbs down the stage and embraces Sakuta! The next day, he wakes up seeing the transfer student/singer of Incest (the band) in front of him! It turns out that this bishoujo is actually her sister!

Along the way of the story, Sakuta's relationship with these three girls intertwine and intensify.

The Sister Route: Izumi
Likes: The various relationships that Sakuta has. His relationship with his sister is a platonic one in her perspective but Sakuta just puts malicious meanings in each contact. Izumi (Sakuta's sister) is just the kind of sister who's touchy feely because she hasn't had any contact with her younger brother. In my books, she's the usual sister who really misses her brother, nothing more than that.

Sakuta's relationship with Ayano begins with a series of boob-related accidents. She's probably a G-cup. Nuff said.

It's white.
Ami is the imouto character that really likes his onii-chan. She's Sakuta's neighbor and his companion whenever he's alone. She's basically an anchor to our main character, popularly known as "responsibility." She doesn't get much attention but at the start of this manga, she's the first person who gives the male readers fan-service. She does it in purpose though, only for "onii-chan eyes."

Even though this story centers around the high schooler protagonist, the setting does not focus on a school. Which is nice since I've had enough school-life stories in manga.

The Incest Route: ----
Another one that pulled me into this story is that it is music-themed. I was looking for a seinen series and I had a nice first impression on the title and the cover art--the cover art mention is Volume 6 which contains a topless Izumi holding a mic. I'm into currently craving music-themed manga, like Nodame Cantabile and Beck (both of which have anime that I have seen multiple times).

They felt like sandbags? - 40 year old Virgin
One more thing that I liked about this is the boldness of this manga in expressing sex scenes. It's almost a hentai because of the details sex scenes and the erotic and sensual acts that some of these characters do. I'm just impressed with the sex scenes is all. Not to sound like a perv but I really appreciate the fan-service. I give credit to where it is needed.

Weird, but whatever floats your boat.
Have you decided to read this yet? You should. Only if you're reading for the sex scenes, it's okay. I've been there before. This has a great story to back it up. Overall, I enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to more chapters and I will review this too but maybe I will do it as a bi-weekly thing. Releasing two chapters each so I don't get bogged down by weekly manga reviews. Anyway, thanks for sticking and thanks for reading! また 明日, 俺 の 友人!Mata ashita, ore no yūjin! See you later, my friend!
